About the Event
Making medicine with fresh plants is at the heart of herbalism. By working with the plants and observing their structures and aromas, herbalists can learn so much about the herbs while making superior herbal preparations.
This workshop will cover a range of the most common herbal preparations, including tea (infusions and decoctions), tincture, and salve, with demonstration and opportunity to make your own.
We will have a variety of fresh-harvested herbs to work with. And we will provide all the materials (water, alcohol, bee wax, containers) to be able to work your herbs and plants.
We will discuss the benefits of the various forms of preparation, how to determine the best preparation for the various herbs and uses, and other details concerning home-care herbalism and professional herbalism.
What you will learn:
- The different types of herbal preparations
- Working with a dehydrator and other ways to prepare herbs for healing purpose
- How to work directly with fresh herbs
- The medicinal properties and uses of the herbs we will be working with
- Botanical wisdom related to the herbs at hand
- Making decoctions, tinctures, salve, and more
And...
You will leave with your own herbal preparations!
