As the world reawakens to the vibrant energy of spring, I reflect on the incredible journey that has brought us together in this growing online Sanctuary and want to give 🌿✨ A Heartfelt Introduction to Our Expanding Community 🌿✨
Over the last six months, our community has grown to over 10,000 new followers - a testament to our collective longing for healing, connection, and the sacred. In a world that feels more unstable and chaotic, violent and divided, I know you, as me, are searching for true belonging and connection.
I am Angell Deer, the spirit behind The Sanctuary and the New York Bee Sanctuary, and I feel it's time to reintroduce myself to all the wonderful souls who have joined us on this path.
My life's work as an ordained minister, a mystic, a beekeeper, and a medicine man is deeply rooted in ancient wisdom. I am dedicated to the healing of our world, inspired by our shared humanity and passionate about learning from the mystery and magic of creation.
My teachings draw from the lineages of Andean Cosmology and Norse Shamanism, inviting us to explore the interconnectedness of all life.
The Sanctuary, nestled in the magical forests of Callicoon, NY, is not just a place but a promise of peace, healing, and rejuvenation for souls and the Earth itself. The land, home to the revered Sacred White Deer, is a certified Bee Safe area, a Pollinator Friendly registered site, a certified Wildlife Refuge, and a Monarch Butterfly Station. We use 100% solar energy, using permaculture principles we have for the past 14 years, replanting native trees and plants, and growing an edible forest with berries and mushroom farm logs. These efforts and certifications reflect our commitment to creating a haven for animals, plants, bees, and people.
I am also the proud founder of the New York Bee Sanctuary, with a mission to protect bees and wild pollinators across the US and beyond through Conservation, Advocacy, Research, and Education. Our efforts have led to over 900 sites certified as pollinator-friendly, both in the US and abroad. This initiative highlights the critical role bees play in our ecology and the urgent need to protect them for the health of our planet.
